I would have taken the 1929 Lincoln Giants over the 1930 team, because the Eastern Colored League that they played in folded after 1929. However, after taking a closer look at the two rosters in my reference books I have changed my mind. The 1930 New York Lincoln Giants do look like the better team.

I have my own list of the top thirty teams from the old Black Baseball leagues and I pretty much agree your list.

IF there are no surviving members of the Indianapolis Clowns from the late 1930′s or 1940′s, I know of a senior citizen, living, thriving in New York City, who was a documented or proven member of the Clowns,

IF interested in a photo or other information related to his life and times with the League, you may contact me, his neice OR Google with the title; JUGGLING JOE TAYLOR, an article is available there, minus contact information however.

He lives with us and IF a return email is sent, he will contact you. He is 83 yrs old.

In 1938, my father-in-law attended a Crackers baseball game. Someone (I have no clue), hit a home run, and my father in law caught the ball! My father in law, eventually gave this autographed ball to his son, Tom (my husband), and this ball is now in my possesion (my husband has passed away). I was just curious, if there is any interest from any collectors who would be interested in this baseball. I have it (rather Tom had it), in one of those “baseball” perserve kind of things.

iv always been a fan of this history.because of the hardship and history of players that played better than any (white)player in any team in the history of baseball.once i had the pleasure to meet a player when i was in new york a few years ago and was very honored to say to him that he is my hero.i wish a movie director would make the best film about these almost forgotten players.we have pro ball players of all types,only if we could put all of them together and make a great film of these players it would make black people more proud of baseball. thanks!!!!
